An exercise we often teach is “what can you see?” For instance look at the picture with the striped lawn. What do you see?

The stripes on the lawn teach us about direction of movement. The lighter stripes are made as the mower goes away from us and the darker stripes are made as the mower comes back towards us. So what you may ask? If these were animal tracks across a field of grass the same applies to animal tracks lighter path through the grass the animal is moving away from you. Darker the animal is moving towards you. Simple but how often do we stop to the about what we see?

So why not come along and see what else you can see and learn a great activity for all ages!

*Please note animal tracking is addictive you have been warned!!
